V- Squared is a neighborhood project that is one of the many aspects of life in Park Glen that make our community interesting and worthwhile.
Started in 1998, V-Squared highlights the need for Park Glen residents to get involved in their community. Each resident is asked to donate one hour every three months -- or 20 minutes a month -- to the community. That works out to less than 45 seconds a day -- or the amount of time it takes to walk to the mailbox.
More than 200 families have signed up for V-Squared. Many of these families already volunteer in the community in youth leagues, churches, PTA's or other non-paying activities. This counts toward V-Squared.
Many others, however, would like to volunteer in Park Glen and don't know what to do or how to get involved. By filling out the V-Squared coupons, the Park Glen residents tell V-Squared coordinators about their interests and then are contacted to provide them with options.
Each year, Park Glen throws a FREE bowling party for its volunteers who have signed up for V-Squared. We honor those who give of themselves.
