If the request conflicts with the requirements of the deed restrictions, recommendations are offered to bring the homeowner into compliance. The chair submits monthly reports to the PGNA Board.
The Architectural Control Committee helps protect our investment in our property by assisting with the enforcement of our deed restrictions and by reviewing plans for property improvements or changes to ensure that they meet the standards set forth in the deed restrictions.
The committee meets twice a month and works closely with the Board of Directors on issues that may turn into legal battles. In these meetings, we consider the plans that have been submitted and prepare replies to the homeowners seeking approval for their projects.
Park Glen needs volunteers who are interested in keeping the value of their property stable and are familiar with the deed restrictions for Park Glen.
The committee reports, edits and publishes the PGNA newsletter. Advertising is also solicited. Typically there are several editors that rotate the monthly task of newsletter preparation. A sub-committee handles distribution.
The Newsletter Committee is responsible for preparing and distributing a free monthly publication for the neighborhood. Advertisers are contacted and coordinated through the committee. The committee coordinates and edits stories submitted by the other committees, Park Glen residents, city officials, and our NPO.
The newsletter committee meets every other month to discuss content, formatting and advertising issues and to make sure that our newsletter is providing the information in which Park Glen residents are interested.
Park Glen is always in need of people who are willing to help research and write stories as well as people who can help distribute the newsletter. Proofreaders and editors are also needed to help in preparation of the newsletter.
The committee reviews requests made by homeowners for increased amenities or services or problems with current amenities or services and recommends a course of action for each request. Recommendations are made to an Advisory Board that was created by the neighborhood associations within the PID. The Advisory Board is composed of representatives assigned by Boards of the various associations to represent the interests of the residents within the PID. The Advisory Board considers the recommendations and forwards their decisions to the PID Manager, who acts on them. Annual budgets and five-year projections are drafted and presented to city council for approval.
The committee assesses safety and traffic concerns within Park Glen. After consulting with the PGNA Board, the committee works with the city in resolving those concerns. Typical solutions have been installing stop signs, speed humps, or raised crosswalks. The chair submits monthly reports to the PGNA Board. This committee has also been instrumental in getting traffic lights and crossing zones installed in our area by identifying the need to the city. The chair supports the request at City Council meetings and with letters to city staff. This committee also produces the Fall Festival.
The Safety Committee is the focal point for coordinating neighborhood crime prevention and requests for safety related services by the City of Fort Worth municipal departments (street signs, sidewalks, park, etc.). The committee reviews reports from our NPO and our PID officers and coordinates with Citizens on Patrol. The committee also recruits and maintains Crime Watch Block Captains.
The committee meets monthly to pass along safety related news and to coordinate safety related activities. These meetings are very informative with respect to the crime in our area and in neighboring areas.
Activities include safety fairs, National Night Out, obtaining signs, crossings and speed humps.
Park Glen needs volunteers who are interested in working to keep our children and our property safe in Park Glen. We have a good safety record and we want to keep it that way.
The committee organizes, promotes, and produces a few events throughout the year. They will plan, arrange, and coordinate the PGNA sanctioned social events in the neighborhood. Events are typically the Easter Egg Hunt, July 4th Parade, Neighborhood Garage Sales, and Holiday Lights Contest. This committee requires an average amount of effort, but has the greatest rewards and dividends.
The Social Committee is dedicated to having fun and making fun for you! The social committee is the producer of many of the social events for Park Glen residents, including the Easter Egg Hunt, Fourth of July Parade and Picnic, and the neighborhood garage sale. Meetings are not regular, but tend to be scheduled around the upcoming event.
Park Glen needs volunteers who can organize parties and activities and like to have a good time. We need people who can meet with the Board regularly as well as people who can take on a project until completion.
We hope you will join us in keeping Park Glen a fun place to live!
